Meet Our Wedding Coordinators At Chula Vista Resort

There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to weddings. When it comes to your venue, our wedding coordinators are here to answer any and all of your questions. Keep reading below to learn more about our wedding coordinators, Alyssa and Taylor.

Taylor: My favorite part of the wedding is when the bride is about to walk down the aisle: the excitement of the bride and her dad getting emotional that his daughter is growing up and getting married. Another part of the wedding that is one of my favorites is when the ring bearers and flower girls walk down the aisle. They are often nervous or excited with a large amount of people watching them, but everyone always enjoys their special part in the wedding.

Alyssa: Watching the couple when they meet at the altar and seeing they notice no one else in the room but each other.

Taylor: My favorite location to take photos is near the river within the trees. During the fall, the changing colors of the leaves create an unimaginable setting that makes for breathtaking photos.

Alyssa: We have it all! Rustic, classic, modern, minimalist and any combination of the themes! We can truly make their vision come true with the ceremony and reception sites that we have. One thing that I love about Chula is that we are right along the river. Every wedding, depending on the time of year, is able to take advantage of our docks and take beautiful photos on the river.

Taylor: I have always been interested in planning and executing events. Starting with a vision and making it become a reality is exciting and rewarding. Weddings have always been intriguing to me because no two weddings are ever alike. The personalities of the couples are always portrayed throughout their weddings, making each experience unique.

Alyssa: I have been searching for a job with purpose, and weddings give me the purpose I have been searching for! It is so rewarding being a part of such an important time in people’s lives.

Taylor: I was born and raised in Iowa. I have a younger brother who is a sophomore in high school this year. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in event management. I have worked in banquets at Mariott in Coralville, Iowa all throughout college. I did everything from setting up to tearing down on event days, which helped me gain the knowledge of various parts to a successful wedding. I grew up a huge Iowa football fan, thanks to all my relatives. Saturdays in the fall are definitely some of my favorite times to tailgate and watch football. During the summer, I also love boating and being on the Mississippi River with family and friends.

Alyssa: I was raised in Wisconsin, but had time away to work in other states such as New York and Oregon. I moved back because after living from the east to the west coast, Wisconsin was my home. I have been married to my husband for four years, but we have been together for nearly 10! We were high school sweethearts, and we continue to beach each other’s best friends in life. We have a German shepherd named Osiris, who believes he’s a lap dog. I enjoy reading books on historical fiction and being in nature on my off-time. In my eyes, comic-cons are as much fun as going to the theater to watch a play.
